Features of Coupling Diaphragm

The coupling diaphragm consists of at least one diaphragm and two shaft sleeves. The diaphragm is pinned to the bushing and will generally not loosen or cause backlash between the diaphragm and bushing. Some manufacturers offer two diaphragms or three diaphragms with one or two rigid elements in the middle, and the two sides are connected to the bushing. The difference between a single-diaphragm coupling and a double-diaphragm coupling is the ability to handle various deviations. In view of the complex bending of the diaphragm, the single-diaphragm coupling is not suitable for eccentricity. The double-diaphragm coupling can be bent in different directions at the same time to compensate for eccentricity.

Coupling diaphragms are widely used in shafting transmission of various mechanical devices, such as water pumps (especially high-power, chemical pumps), fans, compressors, hydraulic machinery, petroleum machinery, printing machinery, textile machinery, chemical machinery, mines machinery, metallurgical machinery, aviation (helicopter), ship high-speed power transmission system, steam turbine, piston power mechanical transmission system, tracked vehicle, and high-speed, high-power mechanical transmission system of generator set, applied to high-speed transmission after dynamic balancing shafting has become more common.
