Oil casing pipe is an important equipment used for oil drilling. Its main components include drill rods, core tubes and casings, drill bits, and small-diameter steel pipes used for drilling.
Used for oil well drilling.
According to SY/T6194-96 "Oil Casing Pipe", there are two types: short-threaded casing with couplings and long-threaded casing with couplings.
For China-made casing, the length is not fixed and ranges from 8 to 13 meters, but casings not shorter than 6 meters can be provided, with a maximum of 20%.
The inner and outer surfaces of the casing should not have folds, wrinkles, lamination, cracks, compression marks, or scars. These defects should be completely removed, with a removal depth not exceeding 12.5% of the nominal wall thickness.
The outer surface of the coupling should not have folds, wrinkles, lamination, cracks, compression marks, or scars.
The thread surface of the oil casing pipe and coupling should be smooth and free of burrs, tears, and other defects that could interrupt the thread, affect the strength, and hinder a tight connection.
According to SY/T6194-96, the casing and coupling use the same steel grade, with a sulfur content of less than 0.045% and a phosphorus content of less than 0.045%.
According to GB222-84, a chemical analysis sample is taken and analyzed according to relevant sections in GB223.
According to the American Petroleum Institute ARISPEC5CT1988 version 1, the chemical analysis is made by preparing the sample according to the latest version of ASTME59 and analyzing it according to the latest version of ASTME350.
According to SY/T6194-96, the casing is subjected to flattening test (GB246-97), tensile test (GB228-87), and hydrostatic test.
According to the American Petroleum Institute APISPEC5CT1988 version 1, the casing is subjected to hydrostatic test, flattening test, sulfide stress corrosion cracking test, hardness test (using the latest version of ASTME18 or E10), tensile test, transverse impact test (using the latest version of ASTMA370, ASTME23, and relevant standards), and grain size determination (using the latest version of ASTME112 or other methods).
