There are many matters needing attention before and after the welding of flat gate valves, which are strong guarantees that the product can reach the standard. For example, before welding, it is necessary to process grooves at the edge of the plates and remove the oxidation layer and rust around the welding part of the plate; when welding, there should be a proper gap between the plates.
If it is the layered welding, the welding layer must be cleaned with a steel wire brush after each layer welding is completed, and the phenomena of slag inclusion, air hole, and undercut should be checked. If there are these problems, repair welding should be carried out after digging with pneumatic tools, and then another layer can be welded.
After welding, carry out the leakage test first. All weld joints outside the flat gate valve can be coated with liquor calcis. After drying, inject a small amount of kerosene into the flat gate valve. The welding joint should be soaked in the kerosene for a period of time. Visually check whether there is kerosene leakage from the outside. Turn the flat gate valve gradually so that all the weld joints on all sides can be checked in this way.
It is necessary to remember that the inner wall of the flat gate valve should be cleaned by the pickling phosphating method, and the rust should be removed by shot peening. The oil-resistant coating should be applied. Do not paint flat gate valves that use emulsion or water-glycol medium, but coat them with anti-rust oil after phosphating or shot peening, and galvanize them after pretreatment.
