Oil casing pipe is a large-diameter pipe used to fix the walls or boreholes of petroleum and natural gas wells. Normalization is the process of heating the workpiece to a suitable temperature and then cooling it in air. The effect of normalization is similar to that of annealing, but the structure obtained is finer. It is commonly used to improve the cutting performance of materials and sometimes used as the final heat treatment of some less demanding workpieces.
Quenching is the process of heating and insulating the workpiece, and quickly cooling it in water, oil or other inorganic salts, organic aqueous solutions and other quenching media. After quenching, the steel hardens, but becomes brittle at the same time.
Tempering is the process of lowering the brittleness of the steel by holding the quenched steel at some appropriate temperature above room temperature, but below 750℃, for a long time, and then cooling it. This process is called tempering.
The existing heat treatment process for steel-grade oil casing pipe has poor quenching penetration, poor mechanical properties of steel pipes, poor bending effect, and easy to fracture during processing.
